However, with inflation running at 3.5%, the real value of homes has actually dipped slightly. It\u2019s interesting to note that Chicago experienced a significant 6.9% annual rise, while Seattle saw a 2.0% decline\u2014all against a backdrop of 6.5% mortgage rates. These shifts remind me how important it is to look beyond headlines and consider the bigger financial picture when making real estate decisions.
